The great general called Hannibal Barca, lived in this era. He was born in 247 BC, Carthage (Tunisia), which is located in modern day Libya.
It is suspected that Hannibal was of Berber descent.
200 -101 BCE
Period of new victors
Kush regains control of lower Nubia.
Meanwhile, Hannibal fights against Rome. In 183 BCE, Hannibal commits suicide in Bithynia to escape the Romans.
The famous play writer, Terence, is born in Libya and enslaved by Romans. In this period he writes the famous dramas: Heauton Timorumenos, Eunuchus, Phormio, Adelphi and Hecyra.
100 - Nil BCE
Roman take over of KMT
With the gain of full control (and no resistance) from Cathrage, Rome proceeded to expand their power deeper into KMT.
The famous romance of Queen Cleopatra VII and Mark Anthony, occurs in this period. In 31 BCE both Mark Anthony and Cleopatra VII dies. After their death Rome proceeds to take control and invades Nubia.
The Kushites defeat the Roman attackers and sack southern Egypt, setting Thebes on fire.
By the end of the Era, the Garamante Empire becomes an ally of Roman; and join the Blemmys (Beja) in revolt against the Kushite Dynasty. The power of Kush is transferred to the Blemmys (Beja).
